Departure information as of 12/13:

We will meet in the Albertsons shopping center on Carefree Hwy 1/4 mile East of Interstate 17 on the morning of Sunday Dec 18th at 9:00 AM. We'll depart at 9:15 AM, allowing ourselves 2 hours 45 minutes for the drive. We'll be taking the route through Wickenburg, Yarnell, etc into Prescott. We'll enter town from Hwy 89 on to Montezuma Street. Go past Goodwin St to the next corner which is Gurley Street. Turn right and go slightly past Cortez, the Hassayampa Inn will be on your left and the parking lot on your right.  Some of our members will be driving up Saturday and staying overnight, so our caravan out of town, will be short by 4 or 5 cars.

Christmas Lunch planned for Sunday, December 18, 2005

I learned today, the menu they sent me was outdated. We decided to go with the top of the line luncheon which I will describe later, the price on the menu was $22.95 per person + tax and 20% gratuity. I discovered today, the current price is $26.95 for the same selection, but I held their feet to the fire at the price they originally quoted me. This makes it within pennies of $30 per person when the tax and tip are added.

I have temporarily secured all arrangements with my personal credit card. We will eventually be writing a club check following the event. Please mail your check to our Treasurer, Virgil Jackson at 10417 East Charter Oak Drive Scottsdale, AZ 85259. Checks should be made out to the club and once again, the tab is $30 per person.

We have been guaranteed the Arizona Room, which is a large conference room with lovely decorating and the best ambiance.

This is the buffet selection we ordered, called the Mile High Buffet.

Shrimp and scallop scampi; breast of chicken picatta; chef's potato, seasonable vegetables; prime rib carving station with a bikini clad model doing the serving (just kidding) with appropriate sauces and condiments as well as a uniformed carver (I like my idea better) tossed garden greens with two dressing choices; marinated mushroom salad and cucumber dill salad; fresh fruit tray & freshly baked garlic rolls served with butter. (I forgot to ask, but I believe soft drinks and dessert are included, it was last time we did this. I think it was brownies and lemon squares or something like that)

So......................please get busy and mail your checks to our esteemed Treasurer before you forget. Since we have given the Inn a guarantee, those who have signed up are obligated to pay for their meals even if they cancel out. At this writing, I'm assuming that all those on the "attending" list will in fact, attend.

For the "maybe" and "not heard from" list's, there is still time to join in.

When the time comes, please check on the weather in the Prescott area. If it's raining or snowing, we'll most likely leave the Z cars at home and take the daily driver instead. This could change all the plans for the departure point, time etc. I'll check the weather on the afternoon of Saturday the 17th and get an email out to everyone. Please remember to check your email in the afternoon for any late breaking changes. If we are rained or snowed out, maybe its best if we abandon the plan to drive together and instead, just meet at the Hassayampa Inn no later than noon on Sunday, which is when the luncheon begins.
