Rim Country Tour 6/24/06

OK, here's the official word. Sat June 24th. We'll meet in Fountain Hills in the Target shopping center at the East end of the lot near Shea Blvd. For those who may not know, the center is located at the intersection of Shea and Saguaro Blvds. We are changing the meet time to 9:45 with a 10 AM departure from Fountain Hills. We'll be heading up Hwy 87 with a 15 minute stop at the Casino in Payson for a comfort break. Then we'll continue up 87 to Strawberry. Pine, and the rim Country and make our way through Happy Jack to Clint's Wells. There, we will pick up 87 A, to Mormon Lake and we'll be making another stop there. The length of this stop will be determined by our projected arrival time in Flagstaff at Busters restaurant. We're scheduled there for 12:30 PM approx.

Update 6/20 - change in eating venue:

Our registration for the tour grew to 35 hungry souls and Buster's cannot accommodate a group that large at lunch time.

I have cancelled Buster's and we will be going to the Creekside Restaurant near Christopher Creek, east of Payson. They don't have a web site, so I can't provide any additional info except their phone number in case you get lost. 1-928-478-4389 The restaurant is about 1/4 mile off Hwy 260 near Christopher Creek. There will probably be signs when we get in the general area.

They have reserved the "President's room" for our group but I doubt if we'll be seeing "GW" there anyway, besides, he doesn't drive a BMW. I guess as President of the Club, I qualify for the title though.

Please arrive in Fountain Hills with a full fuel tank and your club radio tuned to channel 3.

Please RSVP so I will have an accurate head count for the restaurant. Send me the number of souls in your party.

EXCITING PLANS.

We're giving serious thought to touring Colorado next June. This trip will be similar to the 7 day tour we did there last year. We'll probably have river rafting and the Royal Gorge Train ride on the agenda again, along with all the fantastic roads, scenery and touring. More news will be forthcoming as plans develop.

As always, there will be a July event but it has not yet been decided. Visit the club web page periodically. New info is posted as it comes in. We have another great detail man available for any car you might be driving. azbmwzseries.com

That's it for this time.
