Historic Route 66 Tour - 05/01/15 - 05/03/15

Click HERE for pictures, graciously provided by Herschel Weintraub

In the past few months we have sent you some basic information on the route 66 tour starting on Friday May 1, 2015. This is the big national and international event (yes, a large group comes from France and England) They expect 800 cars this year. Out club member Herschel Weintraub has attended this event seven times so we have an expert on board.

The tour starts on Friday afternoon/evening, May 1, in Seligman, AZ where we overnight and head out Saturday morning for Kingman. However, our group plans to take in the Grand Canyon Caverns, west of Seligman, the first day and following that, we'll head to Kingman where we will overnight and return to the Valley on Sunday. The official tour continues to Oatman, AZ and on to some small towns near the Arizona, California border where the tour officially ends. This would require a three night stay for us but I imagine most of us will skip the final leg, return on Sunday and keep it at a 2 night tour. You are certainly free to include the third day if you wish.

We have a lot of details forthcoming on this tour but since the event is so well attended we need to get an accurate head count ASAP. Herschel has reserved a block of rooms for us in Seligman but we have to commit well before May first. We will all have to get our reservations arranged in Seligman and also select a hotel in Kingman and we need to sign up with the
official Route 66 tour organizers, we have the registration form we can send out to you.

I am just sending out the basics for now because I need to compile a list of attendees from our club. If you go to this Google search https://www.google.com/#q=2015+route+66+fun+run you can read about the details.

The motels along this route are "basic" nothing fancy, so you should know this in advance.

Here are some helpful documents:

I’ll look for your PROMPT RSVP, thanks,
